“In my experience, most volunteers do not have a deep mathematical background or experience in the classroom. Given how much growth students need to make in such a short period of time, it is critical that we have experienced, smart and capable tutors for our students. RICH tutors’ experience, expertise and well-developed practices mean that they can do more with the time they have with our students, which is critical. ” — Cary Sabados, math department chair, Cesar Chavez-Capitol Hill campus

RICH Delivers

“I enjoy working at RICH because the people in RICH are dedicated to supporting under served students in very small groups or one-on-one, and it has worked! There is a strong sense of respect for the young people being helped and the students feel it. The students are a joy. No matter what difficulties they have academically, they are willing to dedicate Saturdays to improving.”— Garrett Phelan, RICH instructor

“RICH is a true value to the Academies family. Thanks for all that you have done and continue to do for our students and families.”— Dr. Ian Roberts, building wide principal, Anacostia High School
